The Night in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria will take place in the Parque de Santa Catalina (C/Eduardo Benot).
Several workshops will be programmed by ULPGC (University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria) researchers, encouraging people to interact with scientists:
- Wind and sun: they can move the world! Specific hand-on experiments related to energy and, especially, to wind power and solar energy as they have a significant importance in our islands.
- Science and fun: several ULPGC researchers’ workshops related not only to the regular research but to relations between science and hobbies: robotics, model aeroplanes…
- Everybody can become a scientist. ULPGC, Elder Museum of science and technology, Museum and archaeological parc Cueva Pintada, and CSIC-natural products and agrobiology institute organize workshops showing their work and letting people themselves do experiments.
The Drawing Contest will have its own space in The Night.
